Knowing God Intimately

Now you’ve become a child of God, the next step for a successful living is to know Him intimately.  Just as a child would look up to a parent for living a life of example with proper instruction, direction, and protection; so also God expects you to have a child like faith (Hebrews 11:6) and trust Him every step of the way.

This next step doesn’t come without a price, the price is affordable and simple, yet it’s the most difficult task for any group of people whether young or old.  And that is to spend time with God on regular basis.  As you spend time more and more with Him by reading His word and talking (praying) to Him, you find yourself being more focus, steady, confident, acquiring more knowledge of who God is, and how He operates in human affairs. You become calm, and less agitated to the noise, and distractions around you. You will be quick to think His thought because the Holy Spirit will bring what you read and instructions you receive in your quiet time with God to your remembrance to put them into practice.

God Himself pursues a love relationship with you. He takes the initiative to bring you into this kind of relationship by sending His only begotten Son to die for your sin and the sins of the world. This affords God to bring you close to Himself and have an intimate relationship with you. (1 John 4:9-10, 19; 1 John 3:16).  Jesus is the only way to the Father.  The Father created you for a love relationship with Himself. God the Father wants you to pleasure Him. (Revelation 4:11).   I personally went through a season in my Christian walk of life without knowing this truth, when I realized it, it was a turning point in my relationship with my Creator.  I pray that you quickly come to this realization so you can start enjoying your relationship with the Father early in your Christian walk.

A love relationship with God requires that you demonstrate your love by obedience. Obedience is the outward expression of your love for God.  It is “a following of the “letter” of the law, and a following of the leading of “The Spirit” as well.  You learn obedience by surrendering your will to the Father through the Holy Spirit.  It means you pay attention to the nudging of the Holy Spirit inside of you, and follow through on His commands.  The reward for obedience and love is that He will reveal Himself to you.

IF YOU HAVE AN OBEDIENCE PROBLEM, YOU HAVE A LOVE PROBLEM.

PRAYER:  Teach me, O LORD, the way of Your statutes,
And I will [steadfastly] observe it to the end.
Give me understanding [a teachable heart and the ability to learn],
that I may keep Your law; And observe it with all my heart.
Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, for that is where my happiness is found.
(Psalm 119:33-35)
